RE: Intermediate Level Dressage Tests

2010 Intermediate
Dressage Tests are designed solely for the standard arena. The USEA Organizers
Committee did pass on the concerns of organizers that some sites might be
forced to drop the intermediate level if a small arena version was not
available.
Although the
standard arena is strongly encouraged, providing the optimum setting for a
horse's development and performance, the USEF Eventing Technical Committee did
agree to institute an application process for consideration to use a small
arena. Initially, the committee intended to write a new test, but during the
recent meeting held January 14th at the USEF Annual Meeting, the committee
voted to stay with the 2006 Intermediate
Test A for such requests. With the Winter/Spring issue already in
print, the application process shall commence with the summer issue.
For competition
sites that cannot accommodate a standard arena for the intermediate level only,
permission to offer the 2006 Intermediate Test A may be requested by applying
to the USEF Eventing Technical Committee. Permission must be applied for and
received prior to the closing date of the USEA Omnibus (printed version) of the
relevant competition. Requests are to be submitted in writing to Shealagh
Costello, USEF Director of Eventing, scostello@usef.org, no later than the
following dates:
- o
For events June through August, on or before February 5th;
- o
For events September through November, on or before May 7th.
